Organic Pasture Grass - highly nutritious, ideal for grazing and baling.

The Pasture grass range is a mixture of highly nutritious, straight shoot growth-form species of grass that is suitable for all farm animals and is recommended for commercial uses.
When animals graze, the grass blades detach at the base and allow the leaf to grow back without root damage, eliminating the need to sow seed annually and making the grass an ideal type for grazing purposes.
Please note: this grass seed is meant to be planted all year round in all areas of South Africa, however, optimal growth and yield will be achieved if the seeds are germinated in the beginning of Spring and are irrigated in the first few weeks to develop the root system.
Quic-Grow ® Evergreen grasses require less water than most other grasses; it has a long and extensive root system that seeks water and nutrients deeper in the ground than common grasses; this allows the grass to be more durable when grazed and have an improved resistance to drought.
Quic-Grow ® Pasture Grass may be used as fodder for all farm animals (incl. goats, horses, rabbits, all poultry, ducks, cows and larger game animals too). The Pasture grass range is highly nutritious all year round due to the natural evergreen characteristic of this species of grass. The grass has been used as fodder for 15 years and no reports of bloating or any dietary related adverse health effects have been identified.
Growth in sandy soil is fine; it needs to be well fertilized with any suitable organic fertilizer prior to planting for optimum results.
You only plant the seeds once; the grass lasts forever. Perennial grasses seed themselves annually.
Needs 400 mm minimum rain per annum otherwise irrigate to make up the difference. Southern African average annual rainfall chart typically exceeds this value in most areas. If you are uncertain, please contact me and we can discuss.
