Johnny Hexburg is a chilli sauce range with a story.
How did we get to call our sauces Johnny Hexburg
Since our son was 3 he was into fishing and the outdoors. Give him a stick, a brick and a
piece of rope and he could play for hours. He was [and still is] a Bear Grylls fanatic. So,
whenever he was playing outside, pretending to be Bear Grylls or in the army, he always had
his counter-part Johnny Hexburg with him. His army men was named Johnny Hexburg. His rock
band was named Johnny Hexburg, everything was Johnny Hexburg.
When we asked him where he got the name from, he answered “I made it up”
This is how Johnny Hexburg became a household name to us and this was the inspiration of
the Johnny Hexburg chilli sauce range.
As parents we had a discussion with him and asked him for 'permission' to use his name for the
sauces. We are trying to teach him [8 years old now] how to be an entrepreneur. He is
actively involved at Farmer markets with selling the sauces.

Our range of artisan chilli sauces originated from family recipes & self developed recipes, made with fresh ingredients and is surprisingly full of flavour & aroma!
Not one of the sauces resembles another in taste, all unique with their own characteristics
and flavour profiles.
What we do
Johnny Hexburg is handmade in South Africa, with South African grown chillies.
We make small batches at a time to ensure you receive the best quality. Our recipes are created by ourselves to compliment the natural flavor of each chilli.
